(Many thanks to Hanna Veers, East Linton Tool Library volunteer, for the photos in this post and making our tools look their best!)...
As a member of East Linton Tool Library you'll have access to a wide array of tools and "how-to" instruction manuals to help you with your home improvement, woodwork, bicycle, sewing, plumbing and general DIY projects.
As well as all the tools featured in this post, our inventory includes Dewalt drills, sanders, jigsaws, Singer heavy duty sewing machine, plumbing kit, hedge trimmers, Dremel multi tool, Bosch digital detectors, drill bit sets, hedge shears, loppers, clamps, pruning saw, wrecking bar, wood-carving knife set, tile cutter, telescopic ladder, steam wallpaper stripper and much more. If we don't have what you're after then get in touch and let us know. We'll do our best to track that item down!
Although you must be 18 years of age to become a member, we encourage parents, grandparents and guardians to join and use these tools to involve children and teenagers in DIY projects and promote intergenerational skill- and knowledge-sharing. We have a selection of books on woodwork for children, for example - and a wide range of hand tools that would be ideal for making a bug hotel or bird feeder.
By becoming a member you'll be able to borrow tools when you need them and return them when you're done so they can be used by someone else.
Our volunteers will carry out routine maintenance and repairs on all equipment to ensure good condition and extend the lifespan of the inventory.
